Honeydew- Week 36

This week you are the size of a honeydew! You are still about 17.2-18.7 inches long and weigh 4.2-5.8 pounds. You are beefing up, swallowing amniotic fluid creating meconium, shedding your downy hair covering and vernix caseosa. At the end of this week you would be considered "early term" if you were born- "full term" is 39-40 weeks. This week seemed to go by pretty quickly. The hubs is out in California on mission again until the end of the month. An extra reason why you cannot grace us with your presence until July! :) That and you need to keep maturing in there- we won't kick you out until later in July. I finished with work- bittersweet to say goodbye to graduating seniors and to realize I won't be back until October (officially). Unofficially I will visit during August once he's a little bit older and in September to get back into the swing of things. I pampered myself a bit and got a haircut- my hair was getting so long and heavy. Just a trim to lighten things up but still long enough for a pony tail. This week Jessi also made a visit to DC! Although we didn't tear up the town it was fun to just relax and have girl time. She was also a sweetheart and mowed the backyard (aka Odin's jungle) as the weather prevented Stephen from getting a good mow in before he left. Had my 36 week appointment with the midwives this week. You were at 0 station with no/fingertip dilation of the outer os and about 25% effaced. This doesn't mean much except you like to push on my pelvis! Still lots of time for you to mature and no need to get antsy about an early arrival (remember we agree- July- preferably the 16th and born on the 18th like your daddy). Took the oxygen home this week and had a GBS test (yay negative so no antibiotics!) Taking the oxygen home is starting to make things seem very real! Also we switch to weekly appointments now. We enjoyed some nice weather at the pool this week- and out on the deck with the kiddie (doggie) pool. I hope the weather cooperates again this week for some pool time- and that the indoor pool opens soon! We miss swimming, floating and doing laps!

Enjoying a sunny Saturday on the deck and cool feet in the doggie pool!

I've been bad about taking weekly pics like this- bump is getting big!

How Far Along: 36 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 45 pounds (ish)

Maternity Clothes: yep

Stretch Marks: yep

Sleep: about 6 hours of medium quality sleep- takes a little bit to get comfy. Naps are pretty awesome :)

Best Moment This Week: finishing work, feeling all your movements, seeing old friends

Miss Anything: getting up out of bed quickly and without strain

Movement: Lots of body slams and some kicks into the ribs (not many thank you). You are pushing your boundaries and big enough to sometimes kick me in the kidneys and bladder at the same time (or ribs and bladder) those moments are not so fun sometimes. You move quite a bit when we first start walking before you are lulled to sleep by the movements.

Food Cravings: nope- have to remind myself/force myself to eat- have to eat more smaller meals as you're taking up more room now

Aversions: ugh smells- always the smells :( Gender: boy Labor Signs: too early! although you are approaching full term.... I have had a few braxton hicks (I think- this is my first time so who really knows) Belly Button: in Wedding Rings: on Exercise: walking Odin, yoga and other exercises to get ready for labor Mood: generally happy- like a normal person (not a crazy preggo lady) most of the time- tired! Looking Forward To: hubs being back home
