Winter Melon- Week 37
Winter Melon- Week 37
You are the size of a winter melon! (Another new one for me). You are 18.9-20.9 inches and weigh 6.2-9.2 pounds. Right now you are gaining about 1/2 ounce each day! Grow baby grow! You are practicing skills such as inhaling, exhaling, sucking gripping and blinking. You are also getting more hiccups. You are also getting your first poo ready (for Daddy?) by creating meconium. Wow another week gone by! This was my first full week off of work- and hubs still out of town. Let's just say Im so very thankful for Netflix! It was pretty hot and humid this week so we stayed inside during the day- moving our walks to the evening. Odin has been so good- I truly believe he knows we are getting closer and closer to birth. Surprisingly he has become more protective as well. My neighbors (also friends) adopted me for a few nights this week- was nice to have dinner and conversation with someone besides Odin! Thank you Greathouses- you really helped make the week go by faster!
This week's bump pic- my belly caste! 37.5 weeks Thanks Meagan for doing this! Can't wait to see the finished product :)
I am not sure if nesting has really kicked in- I haven't gone too crazy with cleaning but I did finally get the office cleaned and organized- which is good since that's where the birth tub will be. I also did a fun birthday board craft with Courtney- Pinterest we kicked your butt! ;) Getting everything situated and ready for baby- although it still doesn't seem like July is on Tuesday and he could pretty much come anytime he is ready now. It absolutely blows my mind that one day you are just pregnant and chilling with life as you've known it for the last 9 months and then boom! everything changes, you are in labor and some hours later you have a baby. A real live human baby to take care of. Life is amazing like that!
Our birthday board craft!
Baby's first bookshelf! He will be getting many more books and Im sure sooner rather than later have his own bookcase!
How Far Along: 37 weeks
Total Weight Gain: about 45 pounds
Maternity Clothes: yep- although I mostly just rock yoga pants
Stretch Marks: yep- you can call me tiger lady
Sleep: comes and goes- had a solid, heavy 6 hours this week-thanks baby!
Best Moment This Week: solid night of sleep and a pre-natal massage!
Miss Anything: my abs. I miss my abs and being able to sit up quickly. Baby has grown big enough now that at times I can feel the separation...
Movement: has become pretty predictable- moving around the same times everyday. You move if I feed you and if I go to the bathroom- almost as if you are having a party saying yay more room in here! A few times your movements aren't so fun- bladder hits and kidney punches at the same time are one of those not so fun times
Food Cravings: no real cravings- having to eat smaller meals- not as hungry. Probably a combination of the heat and less room for my stomach/intestines. I have been enjoying some ice cream at night- I mix peanut butter and dark chocolate with vanilla ice cream and make a soft serve- yummy! Interestingly my mom "craved" Dairy Queen when she was pregnant with me- like mother like daughter?
Aversions: ugh smells- always the smells :( Gender: boy Labor Signs: too early! ok so its not too early- I have had a few contractions- I feel my whole stomach getting tight- but nothing that has been painful or stopped me in my tracks. I would have to say (and its difficult for a first time mom who has no idea what labor feels like) that I have not had any Braxton Hicks yet- no practice contractions yet. I may or may not feel them- we shall see! Belly Button: in Wedding Rings: on :) Exercise: walking Odin, yoga and other exercises to get ready for labor. Cannot wait for the pool to re-open! Mood: generally happy- like a normal person (not a crazy preggo lady) most of the time- tired! Looking Forward To: pool re-opening, my Blessingway and Stephen coming home. And meeting you!
