

Eggplant- Week 28
This week you are the size of an eggplant! You are about 1.5-2.5 pounds and measure 13.6-14.8 inches. Your putting on layers of fat and your skin is becoming smoother and less wrinkled. Your lungs could survive on the outside (but you won't really be ready until July- keep growing in there!) Your eyes can now open and close and sense changes to light.

Rutabaga- Week 27
This week you are the size of a rutabaga. You are 13.6-14.8 inches long and weigh 1.5-2.5 pounds (given your Hudak blood I'm saying you are on the higher ends of the ranges). You are becoming more complex and if you arrived prematurely you could (with lots of help) survive outside of me. Your brainstem is almost fully developed and your cerebral cortex is growing more complex and mature. You are making stretching and grasping motions now in addition to your kicks.

Lettuce-Week 26
This week you are the size of a head of lettuce! You are still about 13.6-14.8 inches long and weighing in at about 1.5-2.5 pounds. Your eyes are still forming but will open soon! You are acquiring more antibodies from me to prepare you for the outside world!I had thought about combining week 26 and 27 as my midwives bumped me up (no change in due date) for appointments based on my ultrasound size. Cauliflower- Week 25
This week you are the size of a cauliflower! You measure 13.6 to 14.8 inches (that's over a foot long- crazy!) and weigh 1.5-2.5 pounds. Your nervous system is rapidly developing- giving you a sense of equilibrium, which way is up and which way is down.

This week you are the size of a cantaloupe! You weigh 12.7-20.8 ounces and measure 10.5-11.8 inches long. Your skin is becoming more opaque and pink from small capillaries that are forming.
